take a 2 shot lead into the final

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Steve LeBrun
of West Palm Beach fired a four
under par 68 for a three-stroke
margin of victory Monday in The
Minor League Golf Tour event at the
Tournament Players Club at Eagle
Trace.
LeBrun eagled the par-5 eighth hole
and made birdies at Nos. 4, 5 and 12
after a bogey at the third. It was
LeBrun’s 17th MLGT win, his fourth
this year. He earned $1,000 from the
$7,897 purse.
LeBrun, who won the February
Q-School Contest and now leads the
March contest, is not eligible to
win a second contest in 2010.
This creates a log jam near the top
with 2008 MLGT Tour Champion Jimmy
Lytle, Chris Borgen, and Mark Brown
all within $14.33 of each other.
The money leader for the entire
month of March will get their entry
into 2010 Q-School paid for by the
Minor League Golf Tour.

Streatfeild tied for second place at
1-under par 71 followed by Chris
Borgen, Pierre Relecom and David
Schuster at even par 72.

Michael Connors Captures First
Individual MLGT Event

LAKE
WORTH, Fla. – Michael Connors of
Point Lookout, N.Y., fired a four
under par 68 on Thursday for his
second Minor League Golf Tour
victory. He scored an eagle, four
birdies and two bogeys on the South
course at Fountains Country Club.
Connors earned $1,000 from the
$9,373 purse. His only previous MLGT
victory was on Dec. 21, 2006, a team
event in which he was paired with
Monday's winner Mark Brown of Oyster
Bay, N.Y.
Before Monday, Brown, who has four
MLGT titles, had not won a Minor League
event since he teamed up with
Connors to win the 2006 MLGT Holiday
Team Championship. Brown shot
70 here Thursday to tie for eighth
among 78 players. He now leads the
Q-School Contest by $121.67 over
Michael Connors.
