March Quest Series/Q-School Contest
altered to All MLGT Events, with
MLGT Entry Fees, Payout, & 12 Event
Q-School Contest Open to All!
Player feedback / actions result in
swift, dynamic change to benefit
membership
February 22, 2010
JUPITER, Fla.
Based upon feel and real, The Minor
League Golf Tour has decided to
change the format of the upcoming
March Quest Series Events and
Q-School Contest.
The 3 scheduled March Quest Events
will be held as 2-day Minor League
Golf Tour events with a $380 entry
fee and the MLGT 50% of the field
earns a check payout formula.
Additionally, the Q-School contest
will start March 1st and encompass
every event through the entire month
until the 12th and final event of
the contest on March 30th at Abacoa
Golf Club.
Our decision was a difficult one,
made with much consideration and
based upon player feedback in words
and in actions. We are paying
the winner of the February Q-School
out of our pocket to honor our
commitment to you, the players, just
like we do each day by being there
no matter what the weather or
circumstance.
Please note that changes to our
registration and withdraw policy are
coming within the next few weeks to
make sure that those of us who are
acting professionally will not be
affected by those who are not.
The Quest division will continue
with an event before summer break,
the second annual Sunshine State
Classic in August and the Match Play
Championship in the fall.
Congratulations to January Q-School
Contest winner Jon McLean and Steve
LeBrun, the winner of the February
Q-School Contest!

Dan McCarthy wins Quest event with 7-under
par 65
Jason Caron's 67 good enough for solo
second,
Brett Bergeron,
Chris Miller and Zac Oakley shot 68
October 15, 2009
PALM CITY, Fla. Dan
McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., fired a seven
under par 65 on Thursday at Hammock Creek
Golf Club to win a Quest Division tournament
on the Minor League Golf Tour.
Starting at the 10th hole, McCarthy did not
make a bogey and birdied numbers 12, 13, 17,
1, 2, 3 and 9.
Quest
events have higher entry fees and a
different payout structure than regular
MLGT tournaments. The standard
Quest event pays one-third of the field,
not one-half like the MLGT, with more
money at the top and last place (before
ties) being equal to the entry fee.
McCarthy has won two MLGT events, both
at Abacoa GC in Jupiter, on Oct. 21,
2008, and earlier this year, on Jan. 29.
He received $1,300 from the $6,625 purse
for his Quest Tour victory here.

The Quest Golf Tour is owned and operated by Shootpar Enterprises,
LLC, the parent company of The Minor League Golf Tour and gives
players the opportunity to play for more money with the payout
weighted to the top of the field. The majority of the Quest
Golf Tour Events pay at least 1/3
of the field, with last place earning at
least the amount of the entry fee.
In November the Quest Golf Tour will
host the Match Play Championship at PGA
National's Estate Course.

Play Details.
The next Quest Tour event is at Hammock
Creek on October 15th.

A quest is a search for
something that has a substantial unknown component.
A quest is primarily
journey-centered.
One expects to find
something, like exempt PGA Tour status, at the culmination of a
quest.
A successful journey builds knowledge, wisdom, and tests ones
preparedness and ability to find what they seek.
