Sunny Kim and Hernan Ray tie for 2nd at 72, Kim Leads Bonus Contest

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Andy Golden of Davie earned his first Golfslinger.com Tour victory Monday after firing a one under par 71 on the East course at Indian Spring Country Club.

Golden, 27, who has played the Golfslinger Tour on-and-off since December, 2008, birdied the first and fourth holes and bogeyed Nos. 2, 3 and 5 to turn in 37. He added two more birdies on the back to win by a stroke. Golden earned $1,000 from the $3,197 purse, raising his career earnings to $9,555.

Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens and Hernan Rey of Jupiter matched par-72s to tie for second among 21 starters, receiving $462.50 apiece. Kim now leads the $1,000 Nationwide Monday Bonus Contest by 2 shots over Tim Turpen. There are 36 holes remaining in the contest.

Two more 18-hole events are scheduled this week before Golfslinger takes its annual summer vacation: Wednesday, North Palm Beach CC, and Thursday, Jacaranda GC-East, Plantation. Play resumes July 9 at Jupiter CC.

Beau Deason made 2 on the par-3 second hole win the entire $130 skins pot.
