Bobby Collins Fires Final Round 65 to win by 5

STUART, Fla. – Bobby Collins of Palm Beach Gardens earned his fourth victory on the Fuzion-Minor League Golf Tour with a final round of seven under par 65 Friday at the Champions Club at Summerfield. On a 136, he finished five strokes ahead of the field as he posted the lowest score since the course was reopened after being renovated last summer, setting the new course record.

Following an opening round of 71 which trailed the leader by a stroke, Collins birdied five holes on the front nine, Nos. 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9, and the 13th and 15th coming home. He had four birdies and three bogeys Thursday. Collins earned $1,500 from the $5,510 purse.

David Johnson of Palm Bay, the opening day leader at 70, added 71 for 141, tied for second with Tim Turpen of West Palm Beach (74-67) among 19 starters. Each received $912.50.

Three one-day tournaments are scheduled next week: Monday, Jupiter Dunes, a 27-hole event on a par-3 course; Wednesday on the Champion course at PGA National; and Thursday at Ironhorse CC.
