Two 66's, Two Playoffs, Two Wins for Jacob Korb

Korb wins playoff on first extra hole over Tim Turpen, picks up 3rd MLGT Victory

JUPITER, Fla. – Jacob Korb of Jupiter won his second straight Fuzion/Minor League Golf Tour event Monday. Both have come in playoffs after he shot 66 in regulation play.

On Monday at Abacoa Golf Club, Korb beat Tim Turpen of West Palm Beach with par on the first playoff hole, sinking a five footer moments after Turpen did not convert his par putt from seven feet.

Last Friday, Korb, 30, outlasted Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens with par on the second extra hole at Winston Trails Golf Club, Lake Worth. He has earned $1,950 for the two victories, his second and third on the MLGT since August, 2007, and now leads the Q-School Contest 5 money list. If he remains atop the standings through August 5th, he will have his entry fee paid by the FuZion MLGT into the PGA Tour's qualifying tournament in the fall.

In regulation Monday, Korb and Turpen each had seven birdies and a bogey. Korb won $1,000 and Turpen earned $700 for their efforts.  They were the only players to break 70 on a very windy summer day.

Pierre-Henri Soero, who tied the tour scoring record last Monday with a 61 at The Fountains Country Club's South Course, tied for third with Morton Orveland at 2-under par 70.  Eric Beringer and Warren Jurkowitz tied for fifth at one under par 71.

There was $250 in the skins pot with 4 skins out worth $62.50 each.
