Mother Nature prevents 59, Vaughn Snyder shoots 63 for win

ATLANTIS, Fla. – Vaughn Snyder of West Palm Beach edged Ben Hartman of Jupiter by a stroke, 63 to 64, in a Fuzion-Minor League Golf Tour event Monday at Atlantis Country Club.

It was Snyder’s fifth MLGT victory, his fourth this year. He earned $800 from the $4,375 purse. A day earlier, Snyder received $5,000 as a member of the winning team in a pro-scratch amateur tournament at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach. His amateur partner there was Stephen Anderson of Hobe Sound, who recently was honored as the Palm Beach County Golf Association Player of the Year for 2010.

Two special events remain on the MLGT schedule before the Christmas break: Tuesday and Wednesday, Tour Championship, Abacoa GC, Jupiter, and Friday, Holiday Team Championship, Santa Lucia River Club, Port St. Lucie.

There was $170 in the skins pot with 4 skins out worth $42.50 each.
