Ryan Armour and Danny Sahl tie at 69, Armour birdies 1st extra hole

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Ryan Armour of Jupiter sank a 15-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to beat Danny Sahl of Palm Beach Gardens in a Fusion-Minor League Golf Tour event Monday at the Santa Lucia River Club. They had tied at three under par 69, Armour on six birdies and three bogeys, Sahl with five birdies and two bogeys.

It was Armour’s third MLGT victory, the first two coming in November, 2009. He earned $950 from the $4,760 purse. Sahl, runnerup among 40 starters, received $550. He is still looking for his first win on the MLGT Tour.

The next five spots had no ties. The unusual separation in the results occured due to the combination of strong, gusty winds and a very difficult venue. Clint Jensen of Jupiter finished third with 70, Matt Springer of Gary, IN was fourth with 71, Chris Damiano from Jupiter was fifth at event par, Kyle Willmann of Edmund, OK shot 73 and finished 6th one shot ahead of Michael Berger of Port St. Lucie in seventh with 74.

There was $250 in the skins pot with four skins out worth $62.50 each.
