LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, one of just two players not to shoot in the 70s, was the winner Wednesday in the $25,000 Sunshine State Classic on the Fuzion-Minor League Golf Tour.

LeBrun, a graduate of John I. Leonard High School and Florida Atlantic University, fired 69-65-66—200 on the South course at Fountains Country Club, winning by four strokes over Vaughn Snyder of Massillon, Ohio. Snyder had 68-70-66—204, second among 42 starters.

The only other player to break 70 all three days was Ryan Armour of Jupiter, who tied for third with 69-67-69—205. Brian Anderson of Jupiter, the second round leader on 66-67—133, and Steve Balan of Davie, who had the low score of the week, 64 Tuesday, tied for seventh at 209.

It was LeBrun’s career record 37th MLGT victory. He earned $5,000 from the $25,515 purse. LeBrun is among more than a half-dozen starters here this week who have advanced to the second stage of qualifying for the 2012 PGA Tour. He will be playing next week (Nov. 16-19) at Plantation Preserve GC in Plantation. He shot 277, tied for fifth, in first stage qualifying Oct. 29 at the PGA GC in Port St. Lucie.

There was $230 in the Day 1 Skins Pot with 4 skins out worth $57.50 each.
