Chris Scialo wins 87 player Event with a six under par 65

LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Chris Scialo of New City, N.Y., made a hole-in-one enroute to a six under par 65 Thursday for his third victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour, the first on his own ball.

Playing against the largest field in the history of the Golfslinger.com Tour, formerly known as the Minor League Golf Tour, Scialo made two birdies on each nine of the North course at Fountains Country Club in addition to acing the 200-yard eighth hole with a 6-iron.

Scialo’s previous victories were in two-man team events, both with Chris Damiano of Jupiter as his partner and both at the Santa Lucia River Club in Port St. Lucie, on Dec. 17, 2010 and on Dec. 16, 2011. Scialo earned $1,250 from the $10,786 purse. Damiano tied for 17th with 70.

Will Coleman of Kensington, MD tied for second place with Mike Stern of Miami, FL with 5-under par 66's.

There were 87 starters. The Jupiter, Florida based mini-tour started in August, 2004. There have been 849 tournaments, 16 this year.

Fountains-North will host the pre-qualifier next Thursday (Feb. 23) for the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic March 1-4.

Adam Mastone made Eagle on the par-5 first hole to claim the whole skins pot of $460.
