Both players finished regulation at 3-under par 69
Thursday, August 09, 2012
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Greg O’Mahony of Tequesta sank a nine-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole Thursday to score his 12th victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour. O’Mahony outlasted Brett Stegmaier of Vero Beach after they tied at three under par 69 on the North course at Quail Ridge Country Club. Moments earlier, Stegmaier had missed his birdie putt from 30 feet. It was O’Mahony first Golfslinger start since June 6, his first win since May 1. A three-time NCAA Division II All-American at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, he has spent most of the summer chasing the Web.com and other tournamnents around the country. He made five birdies and two bogeys here, earning $1,000. Stegmaier, second among 22 starters, had four birdies and a bogey, receiving $525. He claimed his fifth Golfslinger win earlier this month. Next on the Golfslinger schedule: Monday-Tuesday, Fountains CC-South, and Thursday, PGA National-Champion Course. There was $90 in the skins pot with 5 skins out worth $18 each. |
