Brett Stegmaier wins by 1, earns $1,000 1st place check + $1,000 Bonus

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Brett Stegmaier of Vero Beach and Hamden, Conn., fired a three under par 69 Thursday to earn his sixth victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour. Stegmaier made five birdies and two bogeys on the Champion course at PGA National.

The victory was worth $1,000 from the $4,902 purse and enabled Stegmaier to earn the 7th of ten 2012 Web.com GOLFslinger Tour $1,000 Monday Qualifying bonuses. Stegmaier will be on his way to Knoxville, Tenn., to try and qualify Monday for the News-Sentinel Open, a Web.com event scheduled Aug. 23-26. He earned $2,475 in the four tournaments, since Aug. 7.

Sunny Kim was second in the bonus race with $2,288.34, including $516.67 Thursday. He also became the third Golfslinger player to top $100,000 in career earnings. Kim has totaled $100,388.78 since October, 2006. He tied for second among 38 starters Thursday in Golfslinger’s 75th tournament of the year with Chris Damiano of Jupiter, Horacio Leon of Chile.

There was $180 in the skins pot with 4 skins out worth $45 each.
