ACTON, Ont. - Matt Hill of Brights Grove, Ont. and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, defeated Jesse Smith of Oshweken, Ont., in a playoff at Blue Springs Golf Club in Acton, Ont., to win the second of three Regional Qualifying events and secure his spot in the 2017 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont., July 24-30, 2017.

Hill and Smith tied in regulation at 5-under par 67 in the Regional Qualifier to get into the Monday Qualifier for the 2017 RBC Canadian Open. However if more than 100 players attempt Regional Qualifying, the winner automatically gets into the Candaian Open.

Hill has 14 top 5 finishes including a win on the Minor League Golf Tour since joing in February 2011.
