FARMINGTON, Utah - Kristoffer Ventura from Norway moved to 17th on the points list on the Korn Ferry Tour Sunday with his win at the Utah Championship almost surely securing his 2019/20 PGA Tour card. His 14-under par total of 270 (69-70-66-65) was matched by Joshua Creel so they headed to extra holes. Both men halved the first two extra holes with pars and when Creel failed to make par on the 3rd extra hole Ventura made his 3 footer for par and the win.
A tough week at final stage of Q-School left Ventura with poor conditional status and relying on Monday Qualifying to get starts. He received a sponsor exemption into the BMW Charity Pro-Am where he went on to finish T3. The best thing about that was that got him into the following weeks event. What Kristoffer didn't know was that you have to commit to the following week within 30 minutes of signing your scorecard that Sunday afternoon. He did not do that so he was not able to play the following week. Ventura handled it like a true professional and just 3 weeks later he finds himself in the winners circle and well on his way to the PGA Tour.
Congratulations Kristoffer and keep up the great play!
