PLANTATION, Fla. - MJ Maguire from St. Petersburg, FL went wire to wire winning the Q-School tune up event at Plantation Preserve Golf Club. His 19-under par total of 194 (62-67-65) was three better than the field. He earned $3,000 from the $21,765 purse plus $464 from the optional bonus pool.
Piri Borja, Mike Miller and Wesley Hunter tied for 2nd at 16-under par.
Maguire also won Qualifying School Contest #5 and the $5k bonus to put towards his Q-School entry fee.
A big thank you to Plantation Preserve GC for hosting this event and giving the players a chance to see the course in competition before they host 2nd stage of Korn Ferry Tour Q-School next week.

PLANTATION, Fla. - MJ Maguire from St. Petersburg, FL eagled the first and last holes en route to a 9-under par 62 and the first round lead at Plantation Preserve Golf Club. He bogied 3 and 4 and added birdies at 6,8,10,12,14,15 and 16. He leads by one over Marcos Montenegro on a day that saw blistering scores from the field. 35 of the 47 players broke par.
The top 40% (19 and ties) will make the 36 hole cut and play Thursday.
