PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Raul Pereda from Mexico fired 10-under par 206 (69-68-69) to win by one over Ricardo Celia and Chris Nido. He bogied the par-5 finishing hole but it didn't change the outcome as he was two clear of the field on 18.
Pereda graduated Jacksonville University in 2018 and has been competing on PGA Tour LatinoAmerica. This was his first win on the MLGT in his first start.
Pereda earned $3,300 from the $19,705 purse plus $71.43 in skins for a total of $3,371.43. He also earned a $5k bonus by winning Qualifying School contest #3. That money will go towards his Korn Ferry Tour Q-School entry fee this fall.
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Ricardo Celia from Miami, FL and Raul Pereda from Mexico are tied at the top after 36 holes at 7-under par 137. The gusty winds have proved to be challenging on the Palmer course at PGA National.
First round leader Michael Kartrude and Brett Stegmaier both eagled the par-5 finishing hole Wednesday to get within one shot of the lead entering the final day.
The top 40% and tied made the 36 hole cut which fell at 1-over par 145.
25 of the 43 players chose to enter the $200 Qualifying School Contest where the winner will recieve a $5k bonus to put towards the Q-School entry fee of their choice.

The field will be cut to the low 40% and ties after day 2.
