STUART, Fla. - Brandon Matthews from Dupont, PA fired 194 (66-64-64) to win the Martin County Open presented by Tremont. He started the final round one shot in front Marcelo Rozo and Michael Graboyes but it was Angelo Giantsopoulos that would make a run at him. Matthews went out in 32 then eagled the par-5 11th to take a two shot lead. But Angelo birdied 11,13,15 and 16 to get within one. A bogey on 18 by Angelo and birdies on 13,14 and 16 by Brandon would earn him a three shot win. Matthews earned $4,000 from the $17,300 purse plus $464 from the bonus pool and $149.34 in skins for a total of $4,613.34. Giantsopoulos earned $2,500 for the 2nd place finish.
