HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Tommy Kuhl from Morton, IL birded the final hole to win the 2026 Lake County Open on the Las Colinas course at Mission Resort. He earned $10,000 from the $58,490 purse plus $471 from the bonus pool for a total of $10,471.

Nicklaus Sutton was in control all week and took a two shot lead over Kuhl to the final hole. Sutton's tee shot found the right trees which led to a pitch out. He then had to lay up on the par 5 and his 4th shot found the green some 70 feet away from the back right pin. Kuhl went for the green in two after a good tee shot but his 3-wood found the pine straw left of the green. He hit an incredible shot to 6 feet behind the pin. Sutton then hit a great lag putt to 3 feet. Kuhl knocked in the 6 footer for birdie and then Sutton's bogey putt from 3 feet to force a playoff lipped out.

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Nicklaus Sutton and Luke Schniederjans share the 36 hole lead at 11-under par. Sutton had it going early but ran into some trouble on the back nine. Schniederjans played a fine bogie free second round 64 to climb the board and enter the final round tied at the top.

43 players made the cut which fell at 2-under par 142.

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Nicklaus Sutton from Charlotte, NC was on 59 watch late in the first round of the Lake County Open. He hit it close for birdie on 16 to get to -10 (par 71) with two to play. After his birdie putt slid by the high side on 17 he would need an eagle at the par-5 18th to break 60. He went for the green in two and found the penalty area which led to a bogie but still a great round of 62 and a two shot lead over Muzzy Donohue and Anthony Purcea.

The top 40% (36 plus ties) will make the 36 hole cut and play Thursday's final round. After day one there are 42 players at -1 and better.
