JUPITER, Fla. - Chase Koepka from West Palm Beach, FL, won Q-School Contest #2 back in March of this year with a 72 hole total of 274 (69-68-66-71). With that win he earned a full paid entry into Web.com Q-School this fall.
Chase has been competing on the European Challenge Tour and European Tour this summer. He has played well enough to lock up his Challenge Tour card for 2018 but has his sights set higher. He is going to skip Web.com Q-School this fall to focus his attention to the remainder of the European Challenge Tour season. With 7 events left, he currently sits in 8th place on the order of merit. At years end the top 15 recieve European Tour status.
Chase's older brother Brooks Koepka is now a household name to worldwide golf fans but it is the path he took that younger brother Chase is following. Right out of college Brooks went over to Europe to compete on the Challenge Tour. Brooks won 4 Challenge Tour events in less than 2 years between the summer of 2012 and the end of 2013. By winning 3 Challenge Tour events in 2013 he earned his European Tour card for 2014. Brooks wasted no time and won the Turkish Airlines Open propelling him onto the world stage. He then finished 4th in the 2014 US Open which earned him a PGA Tour card for the 2014-15 season. Brooks then won the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 2015 which helped qualify him for the 2016 Ryder Cup team. His latest feather in his cap is the 2017 US Open at Erin Hills.
Because Chase decided not to use his Q-School entry that he earned, the paid entry goes to the next player. Mason Jacobs finished 2nd in the Q-School contest but he also decided not to go to Q-School this fall. Brant Peaper finished 3rd in the contest and will get his Web.com Q-School paid for by the Minor League Golf Tour.
