PALM CITY, Fla. – Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens birdied the first playoff hole Monday at Hammock Creek Golf Club to score his 27th victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour.
Kim outlasted Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., and Will Coleman of Kensington, Md., after they tied at six under par 66. After McCarthy missed from 50 feet and Coleman from 12 feet at the par-4 first hole, Kim made a six footer for the win.
Kim earned $1,000 from the $3,087 purse. McCarthy and Coleman, tied for second among 21 starters in the 106th tournament of the year, received $450 apiece. McCarthy has six Golfslinger wins, Coleman two. McCarthy was the Golfslinger winner last Friday at the Champions Cub in Stuart.
Two more 18-hole events are scheduled this week: Tuesday at Winston Trails GC, Lake Worth, and Thursday at Ocean Breeze GC, Boca Raton.
There was $80 in the skins pot with 5 skins out worth $16 each.
