PLANTATION, Fla. – Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., won his second straight Golfslinger.com Tour event Thursday with a five under par 66 on the East course at Jacaranda Golf Club.
McCarthy birdied Nos. 3, 4, 7, 9, 11 and 15 and bogeyed the par-3 eighth hole. It was his 11th career Golfslinger title, including a win Tuesday at Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter. He received $715 from the $3,600 purse here. McCarthy collected $850 on Tuesday and has career Golfslinger earnings of $43,375 since October, 2007.
Ben Vertz of Coral Springs, Florida finished second with a 68, earning $575.00.
There were 30 starters.
Two Golfslinger tournaments are scheduled next week: Tuesday, Jupiter CC, and Thursday, Palmer course at PGA National.
