PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge birdied the 16th and 18th holes Wednesday to pull out a one-stroke victory in a Golfslinger.com Tour event on the Palmer course at PGA National.
Lytle shot a two under par 70 on three birdies and a bogey to edge Tim Cantwell of Palm Beach Gardens and Zack Shriver of Marysville, Wash., who tied for second at 71.
It was Lytle’s 37th victory since he joined Golfslinger in July, 2006. Two came before he turned pro in August, 2008. He equals the career record held by Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, who is now on the PGA Tour. Lytle earned $725 here to raise his career earnings to $131,195.
The 73rd Golfslinger tournament of the year drew 21 entries. The Tour next plays on Friday at Martin Downs in Palm City.
