PLANTATION, Fla. – Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., birdied his 1st and 4th playoff holes to win a Golfslinger.com Tour event Thursday at Jacaranda Golf Club. Playing the West course, he birdied Nos. 7,9,14,16,18 with a lone bogey on the thirteenth hole.
McCarthy has been on a winning streak this month with 4 wins in the last five events.
Yesterday's winner Ben Silverman and Robert De Biase of Venezuela also shot 68. Silverman, who shot 62 at North Palm Beach CC on Wednesday, continued his torrid pace on the opening nine with 32 before finishing with a even par 36 on the back nine. He was eliminated on the first extra hole when Robert De Biase and Dan McCarthy both made birdie. De Biase was bogey free on the day with four birdies in regulation and 1 in the playoff.
There was $70 in the skins pot with 8 skins out worth $8.75 each.
