PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Jeff Bronkema of Plainwell, Mich., fired a six under par 66 on Monday for his first victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour. Bronkema edged Justin Peters of Stuart by a stroke on the Estate course at PGA National. Bronkema received $1,000 from the $9,017 purse, raising his career earnings to $3,127 since December, 2011.
Peters, second among 71 players, won his Golfslinger career record 39th event last week. He shot 67 and collected $800.
Saturday's winner Even Beirne tied for third place at 3-under par 68 with Bob Friend of Pittsburgh, PA, Carl McCauley of Parkland and Drew Perry from Charlotte, NC.
It was Golfslinger’s 16th tournament of the year and No. 1,094 since starting in August, 2004. Two more 18-hole events are scheduled this week: Tuesday, Links @ Madison Green, Royal Palm Beach, and Friday, Champions Club at Summerfield, Stuart.
