WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Keegan Tyers of Toronto fired a six under par 65 on Monday at the West Palm Beach Golf Club to score his first victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour.
Tyers birdied Nos. 5, 6, 7, 8, eagled the par-5 12th, then birdied the 18th to win by a shot over Eric Cole, Jimmy Lytle, and Sandro Piaget who tied for 2nd at 66. Tyers also birdied the 10th and 13th holes but bogeyed 14 and 15.
It was the 42nd Golfslinger start for Tyers, 23, since January, 2013 during which he has had many more scores in the 80s,18, than in the 60s, three. He received $810 from the $4,210 purse, raising his career earnings to $2,862.62.
Golfslinger’s 31st tournament of the year drew 34 starters. Next on the schedule: Tuesday, Atlantis CC, and Thursday, Martin Downs CC, Palm City.
