PALM CITY, Fla. – Kris Wilcoxon of Easton, Md., eagled the first extra hole Thursday to win a playoff between two players who had never won on the Golfslinger.com Tour. Wilcoxon hit his second shot to within a foot at the par-5 17th hole and made the putt to edge Chris Deaner of Dublin, Ohio, after they had tied at three under par 68 on the Osprey Creek course at Martin Downs Country Club.

Each made four birdies and a bogey in regulation. Wilcoxon received $600 from the $1,440 purse, raising his career earnings to $3,203.51 since March, 2011. Deaner, second among 10 starters, collected $400, upping his total to $850. He has made just 10 Golfslinger starts since June, 2007. This was his best finish.

This was Golfslinger’s 67th tournament of the year and No. 1,145 since beginning in August, 2004. Following a 17-day summer break, play will resume July 7 at Jupiter CC.
