PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Michael Kartrude of Royal Palm Beach, Florida fired his 2nd consecutive 5-under par 67 to win the 3rd GOLFslinger.com Tour Major of 2014 by 3 shots over first round co-leader Justin Dorward and Carl McCauley. It was his third GOLFslinger Tour title.
Playing the Fazio course at PGA National which will host WEB.com Tour finals later this year, Kartrude made five birdies Monday, seven birdies and a double bogey at the par-4 14th hole Tuesday. He received $3,000 from the $10,500 purse, raising his career earnings to $15,234.12 since he joined Golfslinger in June, 2010.
There were 21 players in Golfslinger’s 71st tournament of the year.
