WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Eric Cole of Orlando birdied his first five holes Wednesday enroute to a seven under par 65 at West Palm Beach Municipal Golf Club for his 24th win on the Minor League Golf Tour. Starting at the 10th hole, Cole birdied through No. 14, bogeyed the 15th and birdied 17 and 18 to turn in 31. He made one birdie coming in the front nine.
Cole received $900 from the $6,000 purse, boosting his career earnings to $63,390.12 since August, 2009.
Justin Peters, who will be heading out to play the Web.com Tour in a few weeks (he finished 11th at Q-School Finals in December)tied for second place with Reed Darsie of Charlotte, NC at 5-under par 67. Sunny Kim from New York tied for 4th place with Monday winner Brad Adamonis of Cumberland, RI.
There were 50 entries at West Palm Beach, with 3 more in the Training Division.
The next two tournaments will be played in Broward County, Thursday at Jacaranda GC, Plantation, and Monday (Jan. 26) at TPC Eagle Trace, Coral Springs.
