CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Andy Golden of Davie won today at TPC Eagle Trace, winning a playoff Monday at one under par 71 for his sixth Minor League Golf Tour victory. Golden outlasted Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge and Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ontario, with birdie-3 on the second extra hole (pictured above).
It was Golden’s 2nd win at Eagle Trace. Back on November 3rd he won with the same score. He rceived $700 from the $3,250 purse Monday, raising his career earnings to $23,193.
In the playoff, Lytle was eliminated with bogey at the par-4 first hole. Then after Silverman two-putted from 20 feet for par-4 on the second, Golden sank a six footer for birdie and the victory.
In regulation, Golden had five birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 16th hole; Lytle three birdies and two bogeys; Silverman four birdies, a bogey and a double bogey. Lytle and Silverman tied for second among 26 entries in the seventh MLGT event of the year, collecting $475 apiece.

Monday-Tuesday February 2nd and 3rd is the first "Major" of 2015 at Country Club of Coral Springs. Last year Steve LeBrun finished atop the 76 player field when he closed with a final round course record 61 to win $10,000. The event features a $10,000 first prize at 78 players, and a $6,000 first prize at 50 players.
