LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Brad Gehl may have found a home away from his home in Carmel, Ind. Gehl, 23, won for the second time on the Minor League Golf Tour with a three under par 69 Thursday at Winston Trails Golf Club. His only previous MLGT win was also at Winston Trails, with 66 last March 4.
Gehl made six birdies and topped the field by two strokes despite his third bogey of the day on the final hole. He received $660 from the $3,136 purse, boosting his career earnings to $8,049.49 since December, 2013.
Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, FL, Paul Scaletta from Niagra Falls, NY, and yesterday's winner Dan McCarthy shot 1 under par 71 to tie for 2nd place.
The 17th tournament of the year drew 26 entries. Three 18-hole tourneys are scheduled next week: Monday, Parkland CC; Wednesday, West Palm Beach GC; and Friday, Champions Club, Stuart.
