PLANTATION, Fla. – Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, FL fired a six under par 66 Monday for his 10th victory in his last 14 starts on the Minor League Golf Tour. Playing the West course at Jacaranda Golf Club, LeBrun eagled the par-5 14th hole and added six birdies and two bogeys to win by four shots.
For LeBrun, 37, a graduate of John I. Leonard High School and Florida Atlantic University, it was also his 48th MLGT win overall since August, 2007, equaling the career record held by Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, who tied for fifth Monday. LeBrun received $510 from the $1,945 purse, raising his career earnings to $127,044.
The MLGT’s 81st tournament of the season drew 18 starters. Next on the schedule: Wednesday, North Palm Beach CC, and Monday (Sept. 28), West Palm Beach GC.
