LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Alvin Okada of Waianae, Hawaii, fired a three under par 69 on the history rich East course at Inverrary Country Club Monday to claim his fourth victory in 14 months of play on the Minor League Golf Tour. Inverrary's East Course hosted the Honda Classic and Players Championship back in the 1970's and 80's.
Okada, 27, eagled the par-5 sixth hole and added four birdies and three bogeys to win by a shot. He received $575 from the $1,730 purse. This boosted his career earnings to $7,463 since September, 2014.
Nicholas Capozzoli from Cincinnati, OH and Mookie DeMoss from Athens, GA tied for 2nd just one shot behind Okada at 2-under par 70.
The 103rd tournament of the year drew 13 entries. Next on the schedule another event in Broward county Wednesday November 18th at TPC Eagle Trace, then Thursday November 19th at Martin Downs CC - Osprey Course where skins are returning to the MLGT. There will be a $20 skins pool option which will be due upon payment of the event. The entry and payment deadline is 4pm on the day before the event.
