ATLANTIS, Fla. – Greg O’Mahony of Tequesta, FL, birdied his first four holes Wednesday and held on to win on the Minor League Golf Tour for the 22nd time. After making the turn in 32 at Atlantis Country Club, O’Mahony birdied the 11th and 14th before closing with a bogey at the par-5 18th for a five under par 67.
O’Mahony edged Bo Hoag of Columbus, OH, who eagled the par-4 14th hole and added five birdies and three bogeys for 68, second among 31 players.
O’Mahony received $750 from the $3,565 purse, raising his career earnings to $100,115 since August, 2009. He collected another $223 from the optional bonus pool and $68 from the skins game for a total of $1,041 on the day.
Hoag recieved $520 for his 2nd place finish.
The MLGT plays its 34th tournament of the year Thursday at Martin Downs CC in Palm City.
The Minor League Golf Tour's 2nd Major of the year is just 7 days away. It is a 36-hole event staged at Abacoa Golf Club on April 13th and 14th. The entry fee is $590 with 40% of the field and ties earning a check. First place will be $10,000 with 61 or more players or $6,000 with 45 or more players.
