PLANTATION, Fla. – Jon McLean of Weston, FL, bogeyed the first and last holes but in between made seven birdies including three in a row midway through Monday’s tournament enroute to his 10th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
At five under par 66 on the East course at Jacaranda Country Club, McLean, 30, finished two strokes ahead in the 20-player field with birdies at Nos. 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 16. He received $525 from the $2,180 purse, raising his career earnings to $40,460 since January, 2010. It was McLean’s first MLGT start since late-April. He has been traveling playing on the PGA Tour China.
Tommy Hurst from Miami Shores, FL, birdied his final two holes to finish 2nd alone at 3-under par 68.
