PALM CITY, Fla. - Daniel Obremski from Pittsburgh, PA, birdied the 3rd playoff hole Wednesday at Martin Downs Golf Club to earn his 4th Minor League Golf Tour title.
Obremski, Greg Duncan from Edinburgh, Scotland and David Erdy from Columbus, OH, all tied at 4-under par 67 in regulation. Duncan was eliminated on the 1st playoff hole with a bogey after Obremski and Erdy made pars. They halved the 2nd playoff hole with pars and Obremski rolled in a 15 foot birdie putt for the win on the tough par-4 3rd hole.
Obremski earned $425 from the $1,200 purse plus an additional $150 from an optional bonus pool raising his career earnings to $16,172 since joining the tour in October of 2011. Duncan and Erdy each earned $265 for the tie for 2nd.
The MLGT's 85th tournament of the year drew 11 starters.
With Hurricane Matthew bearing down on South Florida, The Minor League Golf Tour canceled Thursday's tournament at Jupiter Country Club. Play will resume Monday at Abacoa Golf Club.
