PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Justin Hicks of Wellington, FL, fired a mistake-free round Thursday, pulling away with birdies on the last two holes for his 27th win on the Minor League Golf Tour. At six under par 65 on the Estate course at PGA National, Hicks won by three strokes. His earlier birdies were at Nos. 2, 4, 5 and 11.
Twice a winner on the Web.com Tour, in 2008 and 2010, Hicks, 42, earned $600 from the $2,940 purse, an additional $275 from an optional bonus pool and $170 in the skins game for a total of $1,045. This raised his career earnings to $67,967. He won his first MLGT start in March, 2005.
