STUART, Fla. – Oscar Fraustro of Mexico City and Jupiter made two eagles on the front nine Wednesday at the Champions Club at Summerfield enroute to his first victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Making just his sixth start in less than a month of MLGT play, Fraustro eagled the par-5 4th and 8th holes and birdied Nos. 1, 6, 7 and 13th, turning in 29 and finishing at eight under 64 to win by three shots. He received $800 from the $4,130 purse, an additional $232 from an optional bonus pool and $130 from a skins game for a total of $1,162. His bogey free 8-under par 64 was good enough for a 3 shot win.
Spencer Mellon from Oakmont, PA finished 2nd alone after a 5-under par 67. He eagled the par 5 eighth hole to go along with 5 birdies and 2 bogies. He earned $600 for the 2nd place finish.
The Minor League Golf Tour's first event of March drew 33 starters. Next on the schedule: Thursday at Martin Downs Golf Club in Palm City.
