WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Justin Hicks of Wellington, FL, was the only player to break 70 both rounds and he won by five strokes Wednesday for his 33rd victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
Hicks shot 66-68—134 on the Rees Jones course at Breakers West. He made nine birdies, a bogey and a double bogey, at the par-3 11th hole Tuesday; four birdies in an error-free second round.
Hicks received $2,000 from the $10,880 purse, $696 from an optional bonus pool and $190 in skins for a total of $2,886, raising his career MLGT earnings to $81,696 since March, 2005. Earlier this summer he won six of seven starts between June 1 and Aug. 7.
Twice a winner on the Web.com Tour, in 2008 and 2010, Hicks, 42, is exempt into the second stage of qualifying for the 2018 Web.com Tour, scheduled in November at Plantation Preserve in Broward County.

Tied for second among 34 starters at 139 were Carl McCauley of Parkland with 70-69 on nine birdies and four bogeys, and Ryan Harris, Carlisle, MA, an eagle, nine birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey for 68-71. Each received $1,450 from the main purse.

Hicks had eleven 3's on his scorecard. Morris overcame one bogey with 6 birdies. Eight players are under par entering the final round tomorrow.
