NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – Matt Gallant of Nashville, TN, scored his second victory on the Minor League Golf Tour with a five under par 66 Monday at the North Palm Beach Country Club.
Gallant, 36, carded six birdies and a bogey, collecting $600 from the $2,790 purse, raising his career earnings to $8,991 since Nov. 19, 2015, including $232 from Monday’s bonus pool. His previous MLGT victory was in October, 2016, at Abacoa GC in Jupiter.
Tied for second at 68 among 25 starters were Mike Miller of Brewster, NY, and Davey Jude of Kermit, WV, each scoring four birdies and a bogey. Each received $415 from the purse and $170.50 from the bonus pool for a total of $585.50.
This event was scheduled at The Evergreen Club in Palm City but after 5.5 inches of overnight rain, Evergreen was unable to open the course Monday. A big thank you to North Palm Beach CC for being gracious and making room so the event could still be staged.
9 players chose to enter the optional $150 3-event cumulative stroke play bonus pool. The player with the lowest cumulative score for the three one day events this week will win the bonus pool. the top 33% and ties will earn their share of the bonus pool as well.
