PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Jesse Larson of Mendon, VT, posted a bogey-free five under par 66 Monday on the Estate course at PGA National to earn his second victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
Larson, 33, birdied Nos. 3, 9, 13, 15 and 17 to win by a stroke. His previous win on the Stuart-based mini-tour was in November, 2010, at President CC in West Palm Beach.
Tied for second at 67 among the 57 starters were Will Coleman of Palm Beach Gardens and Diego Larrazabal of Caracas, Venezuela, each with seven birdies and three bogeys. Larrazabal birdied his last four holes.
Five players chose to enter the optional 3-event cumulative bonus pool this week. The entry fee was $150 with 100% of the entry going into the purse. 33% and ties of the participating players will be paid. The scores from all three 1-Day Events this week at PGA Estates, Abacoa and Eagle Trace (3/5, 3/6 and 3/8) will count towards the leaderboard. Here is how we stand after one event.
