JUPITER, Fla. – Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, FL, won his career record 71st tournament on the Minor League Golf Tour with a 10 under par 62 Tuesday at Abacoa Golf Club. He made five birdies on each nine, finishing with his 10th birdie of the day at the par-4 18th hole to win by a stroke.
LeBrun received $700 from the $3,480 purse and an additional $228 from an optional bonus pool. This raised his career earnings to $191,453 in 11 years, or since Aug. 16, 2007.
Hernan Borja of Coral Springs, FL, eagled the second hole and added seven birdies to finish second among 30 starters with 63. He received $510 from the main purse, $184 from the bonus pool and $90 in the skins game for a total of $774.
Three players chose to enter an optional $150 3-day cumulative bonus pool where the scores from all three 1-day events this week count towards the leaderboard. 100% of the entry fee goes into the purse with the top 33% earning a check. Here is how they stand with one event to go.
