HOBE SOUND, Fla. – Jamie Sindelar of Horseheads, NY, continued his superb play on the Minor League Golf Tour by winning Friday at Hobe Sound Golf Club. Sindelar birdied the par-3 third hole in a playoff to outlast Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, FL after they tied at seven under par 65.
Since July 30, Sindelar has won two straight MLGT events, including at nearby Monarch CC on Thursday, 4 of his last 5 starts, 5 of the past 7 and 9 of his most recent 15. The MLGT’s next tournament is scheduled Tuesday on the Palmer course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.
Sindelar did not make a bogey Friday, scoring five of his seven birdies on the last eight holes. He received $650 from the $3,120 purse and an additional $194.50 from an optional bonus pool to raise his career earnings to $80,234 since Oct. 1, 2013.
LeBrun, second among 26 starters, eagled the par-5 first hole and added seven birdies and two bogeys. He earned $510 from the main purse, $194.50 from the bonus pool and $85 from a skins game for a total of $789.50 on the day. He is third on the MLGT’s career money list with $194,243, second this season at $23,221.

The final Qualifying School Contest of 2018 is just 13 days away! It will be a 36 hole event Wednesday and Thursday September 12-13 at Jupiter Country Club. The entry fee for the 2-day event is $390 with 40% of the field earning a check with an optional $200 Qualifying School Contest presented by Joey D Golf and ClubCraft where the low score will win $4,500 (guaranteed) to put towards the Q-School entry of their choice. You can play in this event if you are already signed up for Q-School. The 1st place prize of $4,500 is a reimbursement once you start Q-School.
