DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Brad Adamonis of Cumberland, RI, and Coral Springs, FL, birdied the first extra hole Thursday to win Major III on the Minor League Golf Tour. Adamonis outlasted Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, FL and Blake Morris of Waterbury, CT, at Seagate Country Club after they tied at seven under par 137.
Adamonis started the final round 4 shots off the overnight lead of -7. Playing two groups ahead of the leaders, he started out -4 through 4 holes and would post the lowest round of the day of 68. LeBrun birdied 16 and 17 to get to -7 and Morris overcame a rocky start to the final day being +3 through 6 holes with 3 birdies coming in to get to -7. The trio went to the par-5 first hole for the sudden death playoff. Morris hit his second shot out of bounds while LeBrun and Adamonis were both around the green in two. LeBrun chipped to 10 feet right before Adamonis hit his bunker shot to five feet. LeBrun's putt barely missed leaving the door open for Adamonis. He burried the 5 footer for the win.
In 36 holes, Adamonis eagled the par-5 first hole the second round and also had 10 birdies and 5 bogeys. He received $4,000 from the $18,700 purse. LeBrun and Morris tied for second among 35 starters. LeBrun totaled 11 birdies and 4 bogeys, Morris 10 birdies and 3 bogeys, none the first day when he birdied the last four holes for 65. Each received $2,773, including $423 from the optional bonus pool.
Zach Zaback won the 2nd Day Shootout worth $225 with a score of 70.

The MLGT plays three 18-hole tournaments next week: Monday, Indian Spring CC, Boynton Beach; Tuesday, Abacoa GC, Jupiter; and Thursday, Jupiter CC. There is an optional $100 3-Day Cumulative Bonus Pool where scores from all three 1-day events count towards the leaderboard. 100% of the $100 entry fee goes into the purse with 33% and ties earning a check.
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Blake Morris from Waterbury, CT birdied the final four holes to shoot 65 and lead the pack after day 1 at The Seagate Country Club. He did not make a bogey and added birdies at 5, 9 and 11 to go along with the last four holes.
Steve LeBrun from West Palm Beach, FL sits in 2nd place after an opening round 67. Three players are tied for 3rd at 68.
15 players chose to enter the optional $100 bonus pool where the top 33% and ties earn a check. 100% of the entries go into the purse creating a prize pool of $1,500. 1st - $464, 2nd - $382, 3rd - $300, 4th - $218, 5th - $136.
