PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Brant Peaper of Tequesta, FL began his round eagle-double bogey-birdie, then settled down and went on to claim his fourth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour with a five under par 67 Monday at Saint Lucie Trail Golf Club. Peaper added a bogey and five more birdies, including three in a row starting at the ninth hole, to win by two strokes. He earned $700 from the $3,190 purse, $214 from an optional bonus pool and $80 from the skins game for a total of $994. Though Peaper first played on the MLGT in October, 2014, all his wins have come since March of this year.
Tied for second at 69 among 25 starters were Nick Latimer of Cleveland, OH, and Zach Zaback of Farmington, CT, each with four birdies and a bogey. They received $525 apiece from the main purse plus $93 each from the bonus pool.
The MLGT wraps up the month Wednesday and Thursday with a 2-day event on the West course at Fountains Country Club.
