PALM CITY, Fla. – Eric Dietrich of Cheshire, CT, got back the one that got away last week in Minor League Golf Tour play Monday at Hammock Creek Golf Club. Dietrich scored a six under par 66 on seven birdies and a bogey to win by three strokes for his second MLGT victory. Among the three players who tied for second at 69 was Jamie Sindelar of Horseheads, NY, who beat Dietrich on the fifth hole of a playoff last Thursday at the Jupiter Country Club.
Dietrich, 25, received $900 from the $4,475 purse and an additional $210 from an optional bonus pool and $90 in skins for a total of $1,200, raising his career earnings to $20,464 since he joined the MLGT in September, 2017.
Sindelar made four birdies and a bogey. Others at 69 among the 35 starters were Dan McCarthy, Syracuse, NY, on three birdies, and Blake Maum, Chattanooga, TN, five birdies and a double bogey at the par-5 15th hole.
This was MLGT tournament No. 1,650 since the Stuart-based mini-tour began in August, 2004. Two more events are scheduled this week: Tuesday, Jacaranda GC-East, Plantation, and Thursday at the nearby Evergreen Club.
