Tate Smith earns his first professional win with 70 on the Fazio course at PGA National
Ryan Celano 2nd at 71 followed by a trio of players tied for 3rd at 72

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Tate Smith of Port Charlotte, FL birdied the 18th hole Tuesday to edge another Florida West Coast player for his first victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.

Smith nipped Ryan Celano of Naples, FL 70-71 on the Fazio course at PGA National. It was Smith’s third MLGT start and the first time he cashed a check, $600 from the $1,860 purse, by carding four birdies and two bogeys.

Finishing second among 14 starters, Celano made three birdies and two bogeys, collecting $430. As an amateur in May, 2018, he had shared first place when an MLGT tournament was cut to 12 holes by rain.
