PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Jon Curran from Jupiter, FL fired rounds of 67-69 to win 2020 Qualifying School Contest #3 on the Champ course at PGA National.
Curran entered the final round two shots behind Brant Peaper. He went out in 32 and drew even with Peaper with 9 to go. Peaper had a rough stretch making a doble bogey at 11 and bogies at 14,15 and 16 leaving Curran a four shot leadon 17 tee. Curran would make double bogey on 17 while Peaper hit his tee shot to within 2 feet on the par 3. Peaper would birdie the last to put the pressure on Curran and Jon delivered making his 10 foot biride putt to win.
Congratulations Jon and good luck next year at Q-School. Normally the contest is for the current years Q-School. However with Q-School in 2020 being cancelled due to Covid-19, the contest bonus will go towards his 2021 Q-School entry fee.
17 of the 51 players chose to enter the optional $200 Qualifying School Contest presented by Joey D Golf. Jon Curran won the $5,000 bonus to pay for his Q-School entry fee in 2021.
