PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Olin Browne Jr. of Hobe Sound, FL claimed his 14th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour with a five under par 67 Wednesday at St. Lucie Trail Golf Club. The son of PGA Tour Champions veteran Olin Browne Sr., Olin Jr. eagled the par-5 11th hole and added five birdies and two bogeys. He received $700 from the $2,740 purse, $232 from an optional bonus pool and $32.50 in a skins game. This raised his career earnings to $64,379 since July, 2009.
Tied for second at 68, each with five birdies and a bogey, were Ethan Cairns of Davie, FL, and Harrison Rhoades of Raleigh, NC. They collected $470 apiece. Cairns got another $32.50 in skins. Rhoades was the MLGT winner Sunday at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach.
Next week is Monday Qualifier Contest #1. Anyone that plays all three 1-day events at Martin Downs (2/24), Abacoa GC (2/25) and Jupiter CC (2/27) will automatically be entered into the contests.
