CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Trevor Sluman of Rochester, NY, made four straight birdies on the front nine Monday, and five in six holes, en route to his third victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. At four under par 68 at Eagle Trace Golf Club, Sluman won by two strokes. Overall, he had six birdies and two bogeys, earning $800 from the $3,845 purse and another $214 from an optional bonus pool.
Three Floridians followed Sluman, the son of 1988 PGA champion Jeff Sluman, on the leaderboard: Michael Buttacavoli, Miami Beach, 70, $733; Clancy Waugh, North Palm Beach, 71, $553; and Ethan Cairns, Davie, 72, $400.
