JUPITER, Fla. – Zach Zaback of Farmington, Conn., sank a 20-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole Tuesday at Abacoa Golf Club to survive a four-man playoff on the Minor League Golf Tour. Zaback made six birdies and bogeyed the par-4 ninth hole for a five under par 66.
In gaining his 14th victory since joining the MLGT four years ago, Zaback received $925 from the $6,455 purse and an additional $215.50 from an optional bonus pool and $300 from the skins pot.
Also at 66 were Justin Peters of Stuart, FL, who two-putted from 50 feet on the first playoff hole, and Stephen P. Grant of Plantation and Anthony Brodeur of Essex Fells, NJ, each of whom missed the green with their second shots and tied for second among 52 starters. They received $540 apiece from the main purse.
Today's event was the second of three events this week that make up Monday Qualifier Contest #6. The professional with the lowest cumulative score for the week will earn a $1k bonus to compete in a Monday qualifier on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour.
