MIAMI, Fla. – Ryan Linton of Lake Forest, IL, and Hollywood, FL, scored a one-shot victory Tuesday on the Minor League Golf Tour. Linton edged Willy Pumarol of the Dominican Republic 65 to 66 at Melreese Country Club.
Linton made seven birdies and a bogey, earning $1,000 from the $5,670 purse and an additional $232 from an optional bonus pool. Pumarol had six and one, respectively, collecting $610.
Today's event was the first of three consecutive MLGT tournaments this week that make up Monday Qualifier Contest #2 presented by Abacoa GC. Tomorrow is the Links at Madison Green in Royal Palm Beach and then the finale Thursday at Eagle Trace in Coral Springs. The low professional for the 3-days will earn a $1k bonus to compete in a Monday qualifier on the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour.
